The nutrition plan
We believe in a diet based on fresh and seasonal wholefoods, free from chemicals and additives. This ‘real food’ principle underpins our Protocol nutrition plan. For the first two weeks of the program, you’ll follow what’s known as a ketogenic-style low-carb diet. Essentially, this has plenty of protein and healthy fats and is low in carbohydrates.
In weeks 3-8, you will introduce higher “smart carb” meals after training. This is called “carb cycling” and is more easily sustained than a strict low-carb diet. The increased carbs post- training not only support a healthy social life, but also an enhanced metabolism, resetting your system and avoiding the metabolic slow down that typically stalls progress. Based on your needs, you can either maintain cyclic low carb indefinitely, or shift back and forth between periods of ketogenesis.
Most importantly, the focus is on the elimination of excess body fat, not ‘weight loss’, which is usually a mix of muscle, water and fat. We want to preserve and even enhance health-promoting muscle, while reducing health-compromising excess body fat.
The Training Program
Our time-efficient training program is critical to achieving and sustaining your health and wellness objectives, and is carefully tailored to perfectly complement the nutrition plan. It comprises of twice weekly strength training sessions and twice weekly High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) sessions, with daily walking and active play. The program also encourages you to increase load as you progress.
By combining strength training and high intensity interval training, with daily low-level movement, the training program not only supports the fat loss objectives of the nutrition plan, but results in a leaner, stronger and sexier body at the same time.
